BANGKOK, 17 November 2016 (NNT) - The government is preparing for commemorative events honoring His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which are scheduled to take place on November 22nd.
Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam revealed that the date is close to the 50th day of funeral ceremonies for the late King, when the entire Cabinet will be present to attend ceremonial activities.
Meanwhile, Government Spokesperson Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd revealed that the Prime Minister will lead the event’s pledge of allegiance at 8:00am at Government House, while the provinces will hold their respective ceremonies on the day.
Deputy Spokesperson to the Royal Thai Police Pol Col Krisana Pattanacharoen revealed that additional checkpoints have been established around the Grand Palace to facilitate pedestrian traffic. The area now has a total of 16 checkpoints.
