BANGKOK, 22 November 2016 (NNT) - Government officials and people from all across the country have joined hands to hold the royal anthem and pledge to do good deeds for the sake of the nation, religion and the monarchy, as a tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
At 8:00am this morning, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-Ocha led a nationwide pledge of allegiance from Government House, followed by the royal anthem.
The ceremonies was broadcasted live, as people gathered at their organizations, educational institutions, district offices and other participating locations.
During the ceremony, many people reflected on His Majesty’s good will for the country.
The late King commands great love and respect among his subjects. From the day His Majesty ascended the throne as King Rama the 9th on June 9, 1946, to the day he passed away on October 13, 2016, His Majesty ceaselessly devoted himself to improving the livelihood of his people.
His Majesty was regarded as the symbol of unity and social harmony in Thai society.
