NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 1 November 2016 (NNT) - Mourners of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej nationwide continue to pay tribute in remembrance of His Majesty’s hard work for Thai people.

In Nakhon Si Thammarat, local residents gathered in a field in front of the city hall in black and white clothing to commemorate His Majesty’s passing. They stood in formations that resembled number nine and the province’s famous golden pagoda at Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan. The late King visited Nakhon Si Thammarat 16 times during his reign.

Director of the Lopburi Office of National Anti-Corruption Commission Chantira Jitchuen presided over a prayer ceremony for the late King at Wat Sao Thong Thong. She was joined by military officials from the 13th Military Circle, the Weapon Production Centre and local residents.

Residents of Mukdaharn attended a similar prayer ceremony at Wat Sri Mongkol Tai led by Mukdahan Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Aphichit Thianpermpool.

In Lamphun province, the vice governor read out one of the late King’s teachings during a prayer ceremony, which was held at Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, in a hope of motivating people to apply it to their lives. After the prayer, they observed two minutes of silence.

Students and teachers at King’s College in Nakhon Phatom province paid tribute to the late King in a ceremony held before the statue of His Majesty. The beloved late King of Thailand founded the school in 1964 and allowed the school to use his signature as the school’s symbol.
