The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) authority, is this year overseeing The International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction's (ISDR) Asia Partnership (IAP) meeting in Bangkok, Thailand in association with the Government of India which is the host of the AMCDRR 2016.

The IAP meeting is designed to update the substantive, administrative and logistical preparations for the Asia Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) 2016 to be held in New Delhi on 2nd -5th November 2016. On this occasion, they are also discussing the revised version of the Asia Regional Plan for Implementation of the Sendai Framework, and will identify the key elements of the political declaration at the AMCDRR 2016.

The attendees comprise a wide range of multi-stakeholder members that include representatives of national governments, organizations that are part of the key stakeholders group, sub-regional and inter-governmental organizations, international financial institutions (IFI), bilateral donors, UN & international organizations, civil society organizations, media and so on.

The Government of India in collaboration with UNISDR will host the AMCDRR 2016. The Indian government and partners have been continually engaged in its preparation through the IAP meeting. The conference theme, conference structure, conference program, logistic arrangements and other aspects of hospitality at AMCDRR 2016 are being addressed in consultations by IAP members on 21st-22nd June in Bangkok, Thailand.
