BANGKOK, 1 June 2016 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha has opened the “SEP in Business: G-77 Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals” in Bangkok.
As part of the opening, the premier gave a speech on applying His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy to macro-economic management and business, presenting examples from Thailand that included its 167 targets for the next 15 years. The PM said the nation is reforming itself and developing good governance so as to forge solid cooperation for future strength. He said Thailand will soon be ready to serve as a strong partner with developing and developed nations alike as well as international organizations.
Gen Prayuth called for the Group of 77 developing nations to work towards having a greater role on the international stage by realizing their individual potential. He noted however that all economies in the world must seek united sustainability, rather than have their economies benefit at each others’ detriment. He stated sustainability is not the goal of any one country and can only be achieved by a concerted effort.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that the military continues to serve a purposeful role as forces can be of aid during times of natural disaster or to end political crises. He made known that in his two years in office he has issued 8,500 orders, which he wishes to see completed soon, while giving an assurance that all of his work is being done within the framework of the law. He remarked that he would remain resilient until the nation is peaceful and stable.
