House of Representatives holds wreath-laying ceremony on King Rama VII’s memorial day (31/05/2016)

The House of Representatives held a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the death of King Rama VII.

The House of Representatives laid wreaths at the statue of King Prajadhipok or King Rama VII in front of the Parliament building to show their gratitude for the late king who was the first constitutional monarch of Thailand.

King Rama VII graciously bestowed the first constitution upon the people of Thailand on June 24, 1932. He died from a heart failure on May 30, 1941.

The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by representatives of the government, independent organizations, educational institutions, political parties and members of the public.

Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali represented His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen in laying a royal wreath at King Rama VII's statue.
