The Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) has launched a mobile application to promote tourism in 10 provinces.
Supachai Jongsiri, the acting president of SIPA, introduced to the public an application called “See Thru Thailand” which has been designed to promote domestic tourism in the digital era. The app is equipped with augmented reality (AR), a new technology that enriches real world images, with digital information and media. With the help of advanced AR technology, the information about the surrounding real world of the user becomes interactive and digitally manipulable.
The application has been launched in 10 provinces namely Chiang Mai, Lampang, Buriram, Ubon Ratchathani, Petchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Trat, Trang, and Phang Nga.
At the moment, the app can only be used by entrepreneurs. It will be available for use by tourists in October this year and will be available for both Android and iOS. For more information please contact 02-141-7162.
