Thailand and Singapore have agreed to strive for greater bilateral cooperation to promote trade and investment.
Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai on Monday held a meeting with Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who has been on an official visit to Thailand to jointly chair the 12th Thai-Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP) in Bangkok.
The two ministers discussed various issues, which ranged through trade and investment cooperation, development of the digital economy, the management of water resources, collaboration in the fight against international terrorism and extremism, and the follow-up on Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha’s trip to Singapore in June 2015.
Mr. Don also brought up the issue of Thailand’s support for Singapore as the ASEAN-China coordinator, and Gen. Prayut’s invitation to the Prime Minister of Singapore and his wife to attend the Leaders’ Retreat, which will take place in Thailand this year.
