BANGKOK, 10 January 2017 (NNT) - Government agencies nationwide have begun accepting donations for flood victims in the South of Thailand.

As southern residents continue to struggle with the ongoing flood crisis, members of the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) have donated more than one million baht to help flood victims.

Meanwhile, the Special Operation Sub-Division of the Royal Thai Police will deliver a tonne of rice, life vests and rubber boots it donated by the private companies to the Ruam Katanyu Foundation. The foundation will later travel to the South to distribute them to flood affected residents.

The Patrol and Special Operation Division has transported more than a tonne of rice, dried food and first aid kits to the South. For residents in the capital, donations can be made to the Bangkok Naval Base. Cash donations can be wired to the Royal Thai Navy’s TMB account 142-2-34677-3.

In Nakhon Ratchasima province, local residents are able to donate necessities at Thao Suranaree Monument until January 16th. Authorities in Mukdahan province have also begun accepting donations at city hall.

A medical emergency response team from Prachinburi province has been deployed to the South, where medical staff will remain in the region until January 16th to treat locals.
