TRAD, 24 November 2016 (NNT) – A private sector firm has signed on to invest in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Trad province, poised to inject no less than 3 billion baht into the area.
Treasury Department Director-General Chakkrit Paraphantakul and President of Property Perfect Co Ltd Chainid Attyansakul have jointly signed a lease for Crown Property land for development as part of Trad’s SEZ.
The zone is being built under the “Golden Gateway” objective, which seeks to create a door for trade and regional tourism. Property Perfect is set to invest no less than 3 billion baht before rental fees and duties of up to 2 billion baht and will utilize land in the SEZ for 50 years.
The company will be able to develop the land according to a master plan which marks it as a Green Zone open for mangrove forest preservation, monuments and museums, parks, public service centers and government offices. A part of the lease also extends to a Commercial Zone in which Property Perfect will set up a hospital, a convention center, a community market, a border trade market, a farm goods distribution center and hotels.
