Thai artists of high achievement are taking the opportunity to showcase their work and meet with their fellow artists in an exhibition being held in honor of His Majesty the King’s 88th birthday anniversary on December 5th this year.

The event is organized by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture and the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University. Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office M.L. Panadda Disakul and Culture Minister Weera Rojpojanarat recently presided over the opening ceremony.

Three world renowned artists and 33 others highly regarded in their fields, have brought their master pieces to the event at Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center. The art exhibition which is free to the public will continue until July 17th.

They include a bronze statue of His Majesty the King by the famous sculptor, Mr. Atsadayut Yuyen, as well as oil paintings by two famous painters, Mr. Thawan Dachunee and Mr. Prayat Pongdam.

The Ministry of Culture is also planning to launch another exhibition entitled ‘Night at the Museum’ in the future. That occasion will feature great art pieces from around the world.
