The Prime Minister participated in the last day of the US-ASEAN leaders summit, stressing Thailand’s will to cooperate with ASEAN and the U.S. on international challenges and to eliminate human trafficking.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha today attended the last day of US-ASEAN leaders summit which begun at 9:30 am local time at Rancho Mirage, California, the United States, with discussions on terrorism, global climate change, public health, and human trafficking issues.

The Thai PM has said Thailand is willing to cooperate with ASEAN and the United States to tackle the new international challenges, and will provide support to address issues such as human trafficking, which Thailand is expediting its internal process, to give ratification with the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons.

He has expressed his comment that the solution to all issues must be established through all sides' cooperation, and that Thailand will support the legislation of law to promote international cooperation, to tackle issues in manners which comply with international standards.

The Thai PM, ASEAN leaders, and U.S. President then endorsed the Sunnylands Declaration, marking the outcome of the summit that emphasizes the aim to support and enhance partnerships between ASEAN and the United States.
