Labor Minister Sirichai Ditthakul confirmed that he has seriously tackled human trafficking problems, especially involving foreign workers in Thailand.
Given the situation in which the country's industrial sector still needs a large number of workers, the Ministry of Labor has closely cooperated with CLMV neighboring countries to set measures to prevent and address violations of laborers' rights and create a better understanding about the Thai government's continual efforts against human trafficking which might possibly prey on migrant workers in this country.
The Ministry of Labor has invited ambassadors to four countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos for discussion of progress in the Thai government's anti-human trafficking measures so that they have obtained correct information and expressed viewpoints about the working conditions of migrant workers from those neighboring states.
The CLMV ambassadors have agreed and were willing to cooperate with Thailand regarding such issues.
