BANGKOK, 1st May 2017 (NNT) - Thais from all corners of the country have journeyed to the Grand Palace to pay their respects to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
People have been lining up to enter Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, where the late King’s body is lying in state. All who arrive at the palace grounds have expressed gratitude for His Majesty’s dedication to national development throughout his 70-year reign.
People have also purchased booklets depicting illustrations made by His Majesty. Proceeds from the sales will be directed to various initiatives, including the Siriraj Foundation and efforts to assist residents in the southern region who were affected by the recent flooding.
Meanwhile, mourners also visit the Yen Sira Phro Phra Bori Ban exhibition which showcases the life's work of King Bhumibol throughout his 70-year reign. Among the visitors today were students from the "San Fun Kan Keela" sports foundation for students in the southern border provinces. Many are inspired to incorporate the late King's moral principles as guidance in their daily lives.
