BANGKOK, 26 January 2017 (NNT) – The Ministry of Commerce has unveiled its “Commerce 4.0: To a New Era of Global Trade” program alongside the introduction of its new business development institute, set up to train small and medium enterprises towards success.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Somkid Jatusripitak has chaired the launch of the “Commerce 4.0: To a New Era of Global Trade” program, centered on the introduction of the Ministry of Commerce’s New Economy Academy (NEA), an institute for training Smart SMEs.
The deputy premier remarked that Thailand must reform its economic structure to add value to its exports and to strengthen itself internally, particularly in terms of enhancing the competitiveness of its SMEs. He called for the private sector to work with the public sector, especially in S-Curve industries, pointing out the government’s Thailand 4.0 agenda is about using innovations and technology towards these goals.
The new program is a coordinated effort by the public and private sector to elevate SMEs into the E-Commerce realm.
