สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองเจนไน โดยนางสาวพรพิมล สุคันธวณิช รองกงสุลใหญ่ รักษาราชการแทนกงสุลใหญ่ฯ นำทีมเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมและสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย และร่วมกับร้านอาหารไทยในเมืองเจนไน สาธิตอาหารไทยและให้เชิญชวนให้คนอินเดีย นักเรียน นักศึกษา ได้ทดลองชิมอาหารไทย ที่ Women’s Christian College

การจัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์ประเทศไทยและวัฒนธรรมไทย รวมถึงส่งเสริมร้านอาหารไทยและอาหารไทยให้เป็นที่รู้จักแพร่หลายมากขึ้นในรัฐทางใต้ของอินเดีย โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนงบประมาณหลักกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ

ระหว่างการจัดงานมีการจัดแสดงร่ม นิทรรศการเกี่ยวกับแหล่งท่องเที่ยวทางวัฒนธรรมและอาหารในประเทศไทย มีการแจกเอกสารการท่องเที่ยว รวมถึงเผยแพร่สินค้าอาหารไทย โดยได้รับความร่วมมือจากเชฟจากร้านอาหารไทยในเมืองเจนไน  ทั้งนี้ กิจกรรมดังกล่าวได้มีส่วนชวยส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีของประเทศไทย ศิลปะวัฒนธรรมไทย และอาหารไทยได้เป็นอย่างดี

The Royal Thai Consulate-General, led by Ms. Pornpimol Sugandhavanija, Deputy Consul-General and Acting Consul-General, organized an activity to provide information on Thai culture and tourist destination in Thailand and collaborated with Thai Chef in Chennai to demonstrate and invite the Indian parents, school students and university students to taste Thai food at Women’s Christian College.

The said activity, which was funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of  aimed to promote Thailand tourism and Thai culture among Indian people in the Southern part as well as to support the Thai restaurant in Chennai.

During the function, Thai mobile exhibition on culture, food and tourism were displayed, and two varieties of Thai food, namely chicken green curry, fried chicken with basil leaves, cooked by a Thai chef from the restaurant in Chennai were demonstrated and offered to the parents and students to taste.
