เมื่อวันที่ 4 มีนาคม 2559  นางสาวพรพิมล สุคันธวณิช รองกงสุลใหญ่ฯ รักษาราชการแทนกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมทางวิชาการและเข้าร่วมพิธีเปิด Workshop on Life and Consciousness in Buddhism ซึ่งจัดโดย Centre for Buddhist Studies, University of Madras, ณ เมืองเจนไน โดยมีผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิได้แก่  Swami Srihari Prasad ตำแหน่ง Managing Trustee Sri Vishnu Mohan Foundation, Professor S.R. Bhatt ตำแหน่ง Chairman, Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), Professor M.V. Ramkumar Ratnam จาก Center for Mahayana and Budddhist Studies, Acharya Nagarjuma University, Gunter เข้าร่วม ในโอกาสดังกล่าว รองกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์เกี่ยวกับหลักการเรื่องชีวิตและสติ รวมถึงหลักการปฏิบัติในสังคมไทย

On 4 March 2016, Ms. Pornpimol Sugandhavanija, Deputy Consul-General, and Acting Consul-General, participated in inauguration of the Workshop on Life and Consciousness in Buddhism, organized by Centre for Buddhist Studies, University of Madras, Chennai. The inauguration was participated by (1) Swami Srihari Prasad, Managing Trustee Sri Vishnu Mohan Foundation, (2) Professor S.R. Bhatt, Chairman, Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), (3) Professor M.V. Ramkumar Ratnam from Center for Mahayana and Budddhist Studies, Acharya Nagarjuma University, Gunter. In the presidential address, the Deputy Consul-General mentioned about the Buddhist concept of Life and Consciousness and the practice in Thailand.
