On 3 March 2015,  Ms.Pornpimol Sugandhavanija, Deputy Consul-General, presided over the opening ceremony of Thailand Business Matching at ITC Grand Chola Hotel in Chennai during 10:00 - 14:00 hrs. Attending the event and addressing welcome speech were Mr. Tharadol Thongruang, Director of Thai Trade Center, Ms. Parveen Papa, Chairperson of Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)  Ladies Organization Chennai Chapter, and Mr. C.S. Muthu Subramaniyan, President of India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chennai and Thai Trade Center is partnering with Southern Indian business circles in organizing Thailand Business Matching, namely Confederation of Indian Industry (CII),  FICCI Ladies Organization Chennai Chapter and  India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The event is also funded by Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

Thailand Business Matching aims to promote Thailand-India Economic Relations and provide a platform for Thai and Indian businesspersons to exchange ideas and contacts as well as valuable market insights.

Thai businesspersons from more than 50 Thai companies in sectors of food and beverage, gems and jewelry, gift and decorative items, health and beauty and household and kitchenware products and Indian businesspersons of around 150 persons join the matching.
