On 24 January 2015, Thailand Team of the Royal Thai Consulate-General led by Ms. Pornpimol Sugandhavanija, Acting Consul-General, and Mr. Tharadol Thongruang, Director of Thai Trade Center, has brought Thai Directors to meet the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce to discuss on the way to develop collaboration between Thai and Indian film industry and on the trip to Thailand of the members of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce.

Thai Director team led by Mr. Krith Boonprapruet or JASSSIAM, who is the famous film producer and director of Thailand and presently the Jury President of Subannahongsa Thai Film Award, and Mr. Somkiat Vithuranich, famous director, and other adversors of 4 persons met representatives of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce at its Headoffice in Chennai. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce side was led by Mr. Katragadda Prasad, Hon. Secretaries, and Mr. Ravi Kottarakara, Vice President of Film Federation of India, and accompanied by other leading directors and producers of 10 persons.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed about the way to enhance cooperation between Thai and Indian Film industries particularly the possibility for film co-production and the organizing of Thailand-South Indian Film Festival in both countires in the future as well as the trip to Thailand of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce members in February 2015.

The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce is the apex body of the South Indian Film Industry representing producers, distributors, exhibitors and studio owners from four languages in the southern states of India. They are producing 1,800 films a year.
