On 11 December 2015 at 13:30 hrs or 15:00 hrs local time in Thailand, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chennai organized the Blessing Ceremony for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, on His Majesty’s 88th Birthday Anniversary at the Consulate building in Chennai, instead of bicycling activity at the Marina Beach due to the severe flood situation in Chennai.
Ms. Pornpimol Sugandhavanija, Deputy Consul-General, acting Consul-General, led Thai Community in Chennai of 50 people in praising and giving blessing to His Majesty the King with good health and happiness, singing for honor the King and taking an oath to be good citizen of the nation.
In addition, all participants have signed the book of blessing on auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s birthday, and participated in prayer and meditation activity for the King and the flood-affected people in Chennai and other cities of Tamil Nadu State.
This activity is a part of the BIKE FOR DAD activity in honor of His Majesty the King’s 88th Birthday Anniversary. Thai Nationals overseas will attend BIKE FOR DAD activity organized by the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates around the globe.

Acting Consul-General paid respect to the portrait of His Majesty the King and opened the come of flower and candle vessel before delivered salutation and the blessing in front of the portrait of His Majesty.
Participants take oaths to be good citizen of the nation
Acting Consul-General led Thai community delivered felicitation to His Majesty the King for good health and longevity, before leading the attending Thai community members in to take an oath to be good citizen of the nation, who would work to best of their abilities to assist the people and further develop the country to achieve prosperities.
